Hi There!

I’m Lisa-Welcome to my little corner of the world.

"Mom" and "wife" are my absolute favorite hats to wear, and when I don't have a Nikon around my neck, you can find me at the gym we own, Clinch Valley CrossFit, or you can find me working with Clinch River Marketing. I'm a lover of a top shelf margarita (salt rim please), living it up on Norris Lake here in East Tennessee, and dreaming about going back to my favorite place on earth- Kauai. I taught high English for eleven years and believe photography is my poetry. Each image a fraction in time standing still conjuring emotion beckoning us to reflect and feel.

I'll never take it for granted that I have photographed the new life of a fresh newborn, a groom tearing up in a first look when he turns to see his wife, or the incessant giggles of a toddler being tossed by her daddy into the sunlight. I'm obsessed with all kinds of light and believe that photography is mostly about connection- how I connect to my people and how my people connect with each other. I smile and laugh a lot during a shoot because a.) life's too short to not have fun and b.) positive energy is contagious. I always knew my senior superlative as "Class Clown" would come in handy. ;)

+ What is your style?

My style is defined as authentic, emotive, connected, light-focused, fun, and glowing.

+ Do you direct your subjects?

Yes! I totally direct during the whole session by giving cues constantly. I hardly put down my camera because often times the best shots happen during transitions. Humor and conversation is how l make people feel comfortable and at home during a shoot. Photo shoots should be fun or else it translates in the image. And your girl knows how to have a good time. ;)

+ Do you give a print release?

Yes, for sure. :) Share and print however your heart desires!

+ What's in your bag?

Two Nikon d750 bodies, a 35 mm Sigma Art lens, a 50 mm Sigma Art lens, a 24-70 Nikon lens, and macro lens for details, and a 70-200 mm Nikon lens. My favorites are the 35mm and the 70-200mm.

+ What's your turn around time?

For family/senior/or other sessions, it's usually within 7-14 days. For weddings, it's within 12 weeks.

+ What makes you different?

I hand edit every. single. image. I know I could outsource this, but truly I enjoy the WHOLE entire process of communicating with the client to editing and delivering the images. I just can't relinquish that kind of control of editing because I love it so much. Also, I only photograph a handful of weddings each year, so I can stay fresh and energetic for my couples. I refuse to let myself get burned out, which means taking on less and giving more of myself to my businesses and mostly, my family. ;)
